If so many parents are liars, as according to this thread, then why bother letting your children play? Why let your children see this behavior? If it lands here in writing it must show on the field or in the bleachers!
I really don't feel at this point that this is going to be a good experience for my girls.
Do I need permission to NOT sign up? Or will I be called a liar too?

Ok, I'll take your word for it that you are a possible first timer. If so, you should be aware that the OP is/was apparently a travel ball coach and if you really are a first timer you would be looking at rec which would only require about a two month commitment and if you really have to be a helicopter parent you could probably coach your dd since rec leagues always need more coaches.
Hmmm, both you and the OP are first time posters on this thread, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one who "directed" you to this site
