When the 'Affairs' thread got derailed into a conversation about sexuality, I remembered that I'd heard that players wear Headbands/Hair Bows not only as a way to deal with their hair, but as a way of telling everyone that they are Straight. No Bow...L---o is how it was put. The guy who mentioned this to me thought I was a moron for not knowing this.

True or not, I can't watch softball on TV in the same way. There are some very creative hair thingies out there.

A few years ago, I was in NOLA during a very wet weekend. I hit the local mall and purchased a multicolored umbrella. When we met our group to head toward the Fairgrounds, some putz pointed out that I bought an umbrella in a color scheme that indicated I was gay. A few others agreed. I told them if they want to believe that idiocy, go ahead because I really don't give a damn what they thought. I told them I was going to stay dry and reminded them they better not get too close or they would get the "disease". We started as a group of 12, but were down to 9 by the afternoon. Guess they really believed. But I was still dry and straight.

Worked on a software project years back in Arizona with a close friend, a gay graphic artist fellow, and our project leader, a guy with many inner problems (alcoholic, cocaine, etc) , though I certainly didnt know that at the time, or I wouldnt have been there. The project leader was very anti-gay, pissed that I hired the guy, but he did appreciate the guys work. We worked in an out of the way location out in the Arizona backwoods, out of Prescott for those who know az. After about 8 days of 24/7 coding, I said I needed some cerebral lubrication, we head for Whiskey Row in Prescott. We are at the bar, the project leader is admiring a large mounted elk on the wall. 'Wow, what a spread' he says, the gay guy says 'Nice 7 point, huh'. Leader says, 'How would some one like you know about something like that?' Gay guy indignantly says 'Hey dude, I'm a fag, not a sissy!". I sprayed out my drink.
