WHY?

What's on your mind?

The DD beagn playing club ball at 2nd year 12's because she wanted to. She continued to play Rec ball thru this past summer because she could play with her friends, who she does not see much during the year, as she attends a different school. On her club team, DD either pitches or plays OF. In rec, many games she caught or played 1st base, or played any other position the team needed.

This past summer DD's rec team advanced to the state tourney semi-finals. DD caught a 6 PM game (she was the best catcher on the team - the games she pitched the catching was suspect), then she & the pitcher boarded an 8:30 flight to NC to play in the PONY end-of-year event. The rec team did not win the state tourney & both DD's & the rec pitcher's team finished middle of the pack in NC. Perfect end to both the season and her rec career.

This fall DD threw at her pitching lesson and her 1x/week club practice. She would pitch 1-2 games/weekend during fall ball (5-6weeks). She'll get back to throwing 2-3x week beginning this week as high school season begins in 60 days and she has movement pitches to work on.

The sport that has discovered DD is field hockey. Her high school team advanced to the state sem-final & she had personal success this past season. She'll be off to Disney the 2nd week of February to play in the field hockey college exposure tourney. She's just compiling field hockey coach's emails to school's she's potentially interested in. Collegaite academic rigor is priority #1, with NESCAC, Patriot, Centenial & a few Ivy's on the tracking list. We'll see how this plays out.

I notice you didn't mention what your kid wanted to do....

What the heck are you asking and why? He told you why he made the jump from rec to TB and to any sane-minded person, it was a sensible move.

So what are you saying? You can't read my questions? Sanity and girls fastpitch TB are oxymorons. You, on the other hand, are also an oxymoron....without the oxy.

Well that certainly explains away your condescending questionaire punctuated by your 1-800-child-abuse usual bullshit. Then you show that you're a force to be reckoned with at scrabble. Applaud...Applaud...Did Santa not bring you that Y chromosome that you've always wanted?

The X chromosome is worth twice as much as a Y chromosome....in scrabble. Its raining, so don't tell me you're pissing down my back.

The world is gray and the answer to this question is not black and white. Each player and parent will have different reasons and motives for doing what they do. When you do things for the right reasons good things happen. When you have impure motives negative things tend to happen. My two daughters took different routes. One is a D1 player and one quit her senior year. Both played LL and TB and I am proud of both of them! Trust your instincts and do things for the right reasons with the best interest of your DD in mind. JMO.
