Your attitude epitomizes my experience with scotch drinkers 8-) Let me tell you this since you obviously are clueless, my experience on this board is the guys who dish it out can take it as well. You might even get there 1 day....maybe

The true answer to all these questions is Southern Comfort - which board is this now?

Well that day for us is this Thursday, although I think my kid has been ready to go for about the last 6 months.
I'm sure it will start to sink in when we get back home without her the following Monday.
For now I'm feeling excited and melancholy at the same time.

I was thinking the same thing, this week is "go-week" for a lot of kids (and parents) my kid has grown up playing with and against. It started to hit us after the last game at PGF, but that was just the softball aspect. Now I walk through the house and still can't believe she won't be there every day, but evidence is everywhere -suitcases, boxes for shipping, piles of photos, jerseys, helmets and gloves, stacks of "what to take, what to ship, what to give to charity" - and the days still fly by. Life has no slo-mo button, and no rewind. All for the best, but damn!

Side story - the softball player is a year older than her sister, and has the nicer of their bedrooms - bigger, more closets, more windows, better view. Other day younger asks "Dad, when we get back can you help me switch rooms?" I tell her sure. Older kid says "wait! No way! That's my room and I'll be home holidays and summers and..." quandary!

Anyway, good luck making the big adjustment to of all of our friends & teammates as the journey continues.
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

Nice. Blame the Messenger.

I'm not dishing anything out here (but if I were, then, yes! I can take it, too.)

Maybe you are clueless for missing my point: The "thread bombers" think its funny to derail threads (that are meaningful to many people) by badgering and intimidating others who disagree with them.

btw I prefer the Scorpions: "Rock You Like a Hurricane"

Hopefully, some of you here will sit back, relfect, and stop dishing it out and treat other posters with respect and maybe others would start posting more which would definitely raise the IQ of this board and give all of us (perusers of the board) more insight on the world of fastpitch softball for our DD's.

Now, carry on.

Hurricane, you have convinced me. From here on I will be looking for opportunities to provide more respect for 12U rankers among us. I feel bad your last thread was buzzkilled. There, even some empathy for you.

That depends - send them where ?

Send'em off to college...Despite her beliefs, ...wife doesn't know EVERYTHING about everything...yet...4yrs graduate work at Juneau Univ may help and she can be dorm Mom

I'll be in the Keys...at Sarges Tiki Bar and Softball Emporium ;)
Grow a quasi mullet, party in the back vacancy in the middle...
Wasted away again in Margaritaville.....

...and Im sorry to be a thread bomber...and with 19 whole posts on here...don't whine, it only shows weakness and sharks can smell that...Roll with the Tide...I haven't been on here to long and have met some truly great people in person and several by phone...but they all say I talk funny, like I have some sort of drawwwlll... ;)
If you have something serious to ask, I promise, someone on here will help you, someone who has truly, "been there done that'...and some of us will rib ya for it...Life is serious enough, and to short to worry about petty stuff, and way to long to sweat petty stuff out...

But to be honest, with 10yrs of Recruiting for the military, I see kids who wish to go to college so far away they can brag about it...then as reality hits and they realize Mom, Dad, their 'comfort zone' will be gone and they'll only be back in the blanket forts in summer and *maybe* at Christmas, they change their minds and go to a school closer to home...some not all....Takes some great parenting before, during and after for kids to be successful being away from home..Encourage your kids...let them know youre a phone call away, and the Calvalry can come, but make SURE they NEED the Calvalry before you adjust fire...let them figure it out some...Im at IT guy now...people call me and sometimes, depending on who it is...I wait a little while before I call them back...usually, they figure it out themselves which is how they learn vs me telling them click here click here click here....Good job to those that do launch their crumb snatchers successfully !!!
