My issue with your post is what I think is the disrespect to the kids. Commitment is commitment. The fact that your players have to walk in snow uphill both ways to get to a practice doesnt mean my kid is any less committed. Picking her up from class in San Diego and driving 100 miles to Orange County for a practice, then driving home with her doing homework in the car. This is a level of commitment I have seen many others make as well. The fact that they dont have to contend with weather doesnt mean they wouldnt if they had to do so.

There are so many kids and parents that make huge sacrifices. Who the hell are you to make such a sweeping generality? Oh wait. I know the answer to that. You are just another clueless, arrogant asshole coach who runs a name org. See, I can make sweeping generalities as well. No offense.

As I have said in several previous posts, I should have chosen my words more wisely. When I said that Midwest players have to be more dedicated and committed to reach the same level as the SoCal player, I should of said and I meant to say that the Midwest player has more obstacles to overcome to reach the same level of performance as the dedicated, committed, top end player from SoCal. Obviously this is just my opinion and as it has been so gracefully pointed out, I am nothing but a clueless, arrogant, asshole coach, whose opinion means nothing. By the way, no offense taken

That is a budget of over $420,000 with 97 players, I subsidize a fair amount of this for the Bandits ...

Hey Bill- stop whining and get some sponsors.

Bill was being modest when he said he subsidizes his teams - I heard from someone on a younger Bandits team a while back that Bill chipped in $20k for their team. That's significant money and opposite the money flow in most orgs.

I doubt Sam knew about Bill's recruiting background when he posted that. Bill's previous article was RECRUITING AT THE CLUB LEVEL where he wrote:

The Beverly Bandits have 110 players in the organization with expectations of having as many as 125 next year. Recruiting is how I have made my living in the IT industry for over 30 years, so it comes second nature to me in regards to building a program.

The article is worth reading. It shows the Beverly Bandits org is run as an integrated program rather than the typical confederation of independent teams.

I agree that it is a tough crowd on HeyBucket but I brought it upon myself and yes, I did find that last post funny as well.
By the way, for anyone wondering
why the disparity with the stated Bandit roster size - 97 or 110? The Beverly Bandits have 110 players but 13 young Bandits are on our 12U Development Team and I don't pay for the coaches with that team.

What SoCal offers is more opportunity to play and better weather. But commitment is something else entirely. Your points take away from the "obstacles" that many kids all over the country overcome to play ball.

So yes, I think you are clueless, etc.
