OMG, 2 years guys? I cannot believe this is at the top of the threads list again! By now the DD that was having the fit over the number probably doesn't even play anymore!
This should get the "thread that wouldn't die" award. LOL
And if anyone knows how to assemble a pole barn, please let me know, I bought this land you see...

Does it come into what college she picks? "I can't go there Daddy, somebody already has MY number!"

Coach Ralph Weekly from the Univeristy of Tennessee recently gave my DD an offer to come to UT and play softball. As they were talking, the discussion of numbers came up and my DD asked if she could keep her number from travel ball, he said sure you can if it is not already taken by a current player. Coach asked what number do you currently wear, DD says 88. Coach Weekly is wide eyed now and says well that number is taken already.

Well a long story short, we turned down the offer to UT, if we cant have 88, they cant have my DD. So we have reopened our recruiting, and we are open to any school that is offering a full ride and the number 88. It would have been so simple if she had kept the #67 from T-ball back in 1998.

It's not about the great education, the college experience, or playing for one of the best programs in the country, It's about looking good in our #88 jersey. I still cant believe he wouldn't take the number from some scrub that plays left field. And he said she was fast on top of that, he must have forgotten that my DD ran a 2.55 home-first on her recruiting video that her mom and I put together.

I wonder if "Pitchermom" is now "soccermom" or "Volleyballmom"?

Please tell me Hoovers Dad that you are kidding? Why would a number be so important? That has to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Why must you rant on about you daughters statistics? Who cares how fast your daughter is or how many hits or walks she has.
