Here We Go Again - Coach Arrested

A cops job is "to apprehend & arrest suspects" that being said there's a big difference between a crackhead hitting the pipe in broad daylight & detectives putting together a felony case against a scumbag child molester, especially in today's litigious society with jury's awarding outrageous sums of money. I've got a couple of buddies who either were or still are "on the job" who tell me detectives are extremely careful in NOT arresting the wrong person. I'm not convicting him & obviously there's plenty of kids this guy helped over the years, I'm just saying what law enforcement professionals have told me . Remember that LA fireman who ate dog food & got millions? Cops get demoted for jumping the gun on high profile cases like this. Nonetheless this is a serious topic where people get hurt & then scars them for life.

I don't know this guy but there's far too many adults taking advantage of children all over. It's not just molesters, it's parents, relatives, neighbors, strangers.. sick people are out there. It's sad and there are no winners.

My DD works out @ EM in Pasadena & loves the place & the people.

Lastly I've posted it before & will again. If you know a kid that needs unbiased, non judgmental peer to peer help have them look up teen line @ http://teenlineonline.org/ they can call, text email whatever..they help kids deal with life on life's terms.

They have no sense of logic or common sense. An accusatory finger is the same as that of God’s condemnation in their mind. Instant gratification, no need for proof or truth. Don’t get me wrong, many, if not most, of the accusations are to one level or another true, but that isn’t your point. What I find amazing is that these same people are also the ones who think background checks should be mandatory and as is proven in almost every case in the past dozen years or so, they prevent absolutely nothing. They catch those who have already been caught, but that should occur through any parents’ due diligence when entrusting their child to the care of anyone.

But these failures don’t deter our little socialists, they have changed tactics. The new argument is that it is now a deterrent! Really? Ask the folks in Surprise, AZ how much it deterred Edward Lee Hartley. Yep, it was a surprise, all right. If a bad guy wants to be bad, no silly $6 on-line background check is going to stop them.

Was it not posted that a criminal background check was presented by Mr. Smith to qualify for his license? And how did that work out? How about #5 on the FBI’s Most Wanted list being arrested in FL this week. Not only did this kid go through a rigorous background check, but also a pre-employment polygraph, and he still was given the opportunity to murder his partner and walk away with a load of money. BACKGROUND CHECKS DO NOT WORK! It is a Chicken Little, feel-good act that prevents nothing.

If you expect a common sense discussion on this subject, you have come to the wrong place. Don’t worry though, there is always an out. When someone promoting a rash judgment are found to be correct, they have no problem sticking it in your face with a hearty, “I told you so!”, but when it fails to be found true, there is barely a sigh and the reminder of “good intentions”. Well, we know where the road paved with good intentions leads, don’t we?

It's pretty hard to believe that this would be happening 2009-2011 when that was when Lori from the Dugout was having him investigated. He was aware of it and filed suit against her. They settled. It sounds like there are some real sour grapes about him. My daughter used to catch some of his lessons. We used to joke about the rumors that Lori started. I'm having a real hard time believing it....but just like Bubba from Upland, his reputation is now ruined although he's innocent till proven guilty. I've known several girls that've taken from him and love him. I just don't believe it.

Im not sure what legal system goes by the motto "Innocent until proven guilty" ( that would be an oxymoron) but that phrase is not used in the Constitution. What you are referring to is our right to a fair trial, where you are entitled to the PRESUMPTION of innocence in order to facilitate a fair trial. If you commit a crime you are guilty of that crime the moment it is committed. When you are eventually caught, and I'm assuming you would be, you would have the right to a fair trial by a jury of your peers who would be expected to hear all the evidence brought before them with no preconceived notions concerning your guilt. Maybe you should school yourself before spreading ignorance.

This is Bobby Oaks from the dugout...... Fact: when this first happened several training facilities including EM were called by us and told that mike was terminated from use of our facility for having a sexual relationship with a student.

I'd really like to hear EM's response on this one. A company that pays its bills off of training young people...Not saying is Mike is guilty and should never be hired again based off just a call from Bobby at the time, but what did EM do to keep this out of their building???

Are you actually arguing it is not worth $6 to keep a convicted sex predator in IL from coaching/umping in CA? Of course since background checks became prevalent, you no longer have cases occur that would get caught by background checks, that is the very point of a check!
