Yes, I was mocking you to some extent but what you are saying here - about the arguing every call, being ejected from games , - dont walk - run away. Early on, my youngest was invited onto a team that had placed very well the year before - I was asked to asst. coach. We joined - at the invite - that day. About 3 months into this, every where we went, every one thought I was the head coach because he was usually ejected early and had to watch from the car. My dd wanted to quit mid -season but I , right or wrong, told her that we had committed through natls and we could leave the day after. (which we did).
I remember going to the ASA tournament coaches meeting and the directors called out my team name and said 'we want to speak to the xxx team coaches after the meeting'. I went - and got dressed down really bad about 'we are not going to put up with your behavior, etc etc etc'. I just said 'Yes sir I understand ' about 10 times. Three or four games into the tournament, the TDs came up and apologized to me - I said 'comes with the territory'.
The things you should watch out for in my opinion is that kind of coach, not the signal stuff, anyway, i have never seen or heard of a coach going through that stuff, thats usually the girls doing that. I have since also seen one more thing - in high school ball - where a kid who goes long a lot, would be HBP over and over. I saw the pitcher - after the coach had obviously signaled it to the pitcher or catcher - attempt to argue it - but give up and go ahead. I record most games - I rarely ever watch them anymore, but thats how I saw this one so plain. But 3 out of 4 at bats for the one kid, she got hbp.
