DD's end cap from 2008 blue Synergy is coming out, great bat couldn't find another one. Got a new model and out of the box it's dead. Read some reviews where they said it's hot out of the wrapper. Is there a break-in period with the new models?

Is the Demarini CF3 the go to bat now?

Yes, I bought one for my DD three weeks ago. First at bat with it was an (almost) grand slam (catcher got her at home)(bad call blue). Still got the 3 RBIs. It was hot out of the wrapper and now many of her teammates are using her bat. I think the jury is still out on the CF4. I have heard mixed reviews. Some like it, some don't.

We have the DeMarini Phenix, which we love, but it's too long (34/24)...so it's currently on eBay and I'm getting the CF3 (33/23)...also LOVE the old 2006 Synergy, which she is still using, although she has outgrown it...great bat, great pop...too bad they don't make that one anymore!

Bought my DD the new Easton Synergy Clarity. It was like hitting rocks. The ball would be dead off the bat. Her gray / blue Synergy was the bomb, but she has out grown it. I did end up getting her a new Rockettech. She loves it.

Same experience this past weekend with the Easton Synergy Clarity. What a dud. Have a Demarini CF3 on the way. Easton bat -- used once -- is now on Ebay. Trusting the Easton brand will cost me $100, but I blame myself. When you don't see the college players using them, that's red flags all over the place -- my bad.

How about Nike bats? Arizona is wedded to them and the entire team uses them. Didn't Arizona lead the nation in offense this year?

I understand that those black Nike bats that Arizona uses are special made for the university. If you buy one, you will get one that looks like it but does not perform like it.

Interesting. That would explain why they're in very limited use. Question is, when will Nike decide on a major rollout of a bat line? Thanks for the answer.

CF3 is the bat of choice. You should have never invested in a bat that can second as a light saber.

The Nike Aero Athena is what Arizona uses, it is the 2008 model that they had before the new 09 composite bat standards went into effect. You can still find it a few places but it is difficult since not many places carried it in the first place. My daughter has the 34/24 one and absolutely LOVES it, several of her teammates borrowed it at their first tournament last weekend and they loved it too and now they all want one. We have not tried the 2009 model, I believe that it is red rather than dark metallic gray. She had two of the white/purple Stealth, broke one, now just uses the second one for the cages or bunting.

Are the CF3 and Miken Rain noticably hotter than the silver & blue Synergies from 2 years ago SCN1B/SCN8B? It appears so from these posts, but we've just stuck with the Synergy (1B - bought NIW in September 08) this year. Need to +1 eventually, and don't know whether to just buy another NIW SCN8B Synergy (Langenfeld seems to do fine with it), or jump to the CF3 or Rain. Have an RTK also as backup.

The problem is trying to find an '08 Synergy. Longest I could locate is a 32" and that 11/2 inches too short for DD. Good luck. I'm going CF3 from the consensus around here.
