Sat - Conditioning/fundimentals/Situationals/batting/pitch-catch - 4-1/2 hours
Thur or Fri - Batting/Conditioning - 2 hours

Add weekday 2-hour practice after time changes, usually the week before a tournament weekend and in Summer, then reduce the Saturday practice to 3 hours.

Why do teams with HS players practice every sunday 3-4 hours when they are not playing a game for 3-4 months? I can understand practicing when you get closer to summer but why practice when these HS players are already practicing 5 days a week after school and games or tournaments on Saturdays. Even in college, the players can only go 6 out of 7 days.

Probably to correct everything they were taught during the week. Hitting, Hitting, and hitting.

To add to the list of reasons already given: DD's TB team does play friendlies at this time of year, Sundays only, and even though some girls can't participate due to HS rules there are usually enough. Some girls on TB teams are not on HS varsity teams (some really good HS teams around here), and so get less practice/playing time than the varsity not to mention that the coaching can be another step down from the varsity coach. I should have mentioned in my orig post that the practices are optional for DD's TB team but they do serve a good purpose in keeping the team together and in letting the girls work on whatever might benefit from some extra time. And there's always hitting...

Is it too much practice when combined with HS practice? DD hasn't complained, but I did post about ITBS which she has developed, so maybe it is...

As the great Allen Iverson once said, "It's practice, we're talking about practice here!"

WTH do you have the pitchers do for 2 hours?

Actually they come 1 hour before the other girls and work on pitching/catching. Ie.. hitting their spots, not setting up to early, signs and what not. Then the conditioning begins. Sometimes we even get our coach to run with the girls. LOL... Not a pretty sight.
