Well, they may go that fast, but there are no 75mph limits in my area. It does help a lot, but I have found even more of a difference is made by maintaining a specific rate of speed. I use the cruise control whenever I can and if people go flying by me, let them, they are not paying for my fuel. The CC makes up to a 5 mpg difference on my highway driving.

Nope, doesn't change the world ... But neither does dropping the tailgate on my pickup truck when the bed is empty ... But the reduced drag gives me an extra mile per gallon ... thats 38 miles per tank ... Thats 6 more trips back and forth to the gym for an hour of cardio on my fat as* ... Which by the way doesn't change the world all at once either ...

Much of the profit margin on gasoline and diesel in this country relies on the public's ignorance, foolishness and selfishness. The public doesn't disappoint.

I'm not much for tinfoil hat stuff, but I think its a little bizarre that my sisters 1982 Nissan Sentra averaged over 45 mpg.. And 30+ years later hybrids are averaging about the same ??? lmao

Face it... OPEC is your puppet master, when Electric vehicles are more viable.. they will make sure the cost of electricity is higher than fossil fuel..
If Solar power becomes a viable automotive technology.. Opec will simply block the sun!

OPEC does not carry the weight and influence it did 10, 20 years ago- your ire would better focused towards speculators on the commodities markets. As mentioned before- the pile-on effect and the ability to trade and re-trade futures contracts without intent of executing them artificially drives up the price- that's why the threat of a "possible" disruption of supply in the future(despite a current glut) can move oil futures so fast
