WTF? You really messed that up. Try again...

LOL...I messed up nothing. Again, Who started?

I don't mess up. I'm not the one quoting someone in false pretenses whether it's a small oops or not. Still an oops for you. Hee hee

What a dufus! You FUBAR'd the previous quotes so it looks like you're asking yourself questions. LMAO Either try again when you're sober - or look up the thread when PGF announced their formation in 2009.

PGF didn't do this at the inception because people would've seen them as just another "ASA." To be forced to stay at a hotel at an inflated rate is preposterous. Unless of course you're receiving the cash. Please answer this question for me, as well as how buddy's get their team a Premier berth even though they didn't finish close to high enough to be considered for an invitation. Oh, maybe that last question could be because that particular organization runs the Norcal qualifiers for PGF.... ;) So don't talk about how great this organization is when things like this are happening.

PGF has been stay-to-play since the beginning. Some of the founders ran/run showcases that have been stay-to-play before PGF was formed. What's changed over the years is the added cost to teams. When stay-to-play started, TD's got special rates from local hotels and the rates teams paid was comparable to what they could get on their own. I suspect the rising use of travel firms to run stay-to-play programs has raised the cost to teams because they take an additional cut on top of the event's and they really don't have any incentive to keep rates down. I heard PGF lowered the buyout by $200 this year and teams should have explored their options. I agree it is an issue that PGF needs to do more about, so teams should express their thoughts directly to PGF.

I don't know what you're talking about with "they didn't finish close to high enough to be considered for an invitation" because there are various reasons why invitations are extended before the qualifiers to teams that didn't earn a returning berth and you might be talking about the at-large berths that are extended after the qualifiers. This has been discussed several times on here over the years. Most recently in Invites to PGF?.

FWIW, FPD05 is off regarding Irvine Sting. They are a unique case due to their priority hold on the Bill Barber field(s). Their berth and a few others given to buddies are akin to the ASA host berths (2).

Doesn't that sort of make Sting hosts for any PGF event held at Bill Barber? ;)

Are they charging a $5 gate fee for this thing or is it more?

I think the PGF master needs his cup of coffee now. You better run along Igor and take it to him before you get a shellacking. Don't forget the breath mint...

Oh Battle. You are on the verge now. The glorious days of Nationals being held in Midland are surely making the comeback. Remind us again how small PGF is, how they are irrelevant.

They ASA vs PGF debate ended 3 years ago. Catch up buddy. Maybe start a new thread.

ASA is trying a few new things. Got that you are not going to let any cats out of the bag. Keep those surprises coming. That Team USA JO Olympic Cup was an awesome idea.

PGF can go to the bank on one thing. ASA will try many things. Listening to teams will never be one of them.

LOL...Yeah PGF is so relevant that most of the county has never heard of them. ASA is not making a comeback because to make a comeback, one would have to be down. ASA is still as strong as they ever were and there is nothing that you or PGF can do about it. They lost the Cali teams is the only drawback but life has never been better for them. The debate begins when it begins. There is no end to this so just relax buddy. People are beginning to see what a sham PGF is.

Pdad, the buyout was 500. Where did you get the 200? Also, Salinas Storm Jimenez was invited. This is a good 01 team, but in no way would a fair and impartial committee have voted for that, unless of course you're running a PGF West Tourney for the boys..

I know 500 was/is the buyout for weekend events like showcases and qualifiers. I'm not sure what it was for the first PGF Nat, however my earliest recollection is a $1000 which was a logical doubling for a weeklong event. I didn't say the buyout was 200 - I said "I heard PGF lowered the buyout by $200 this year." It's actually $100 (1700 - 1600 = 100) - I misread this year's amount as 1500.

IMO, the tourney room rates should be capped at a rate comparable to what teams would get on their own and the buyout set accordingly. If PGF can't stomach the decrease, they should raise the entry fee to cover it instead of unfairly taxing the out-of-area teams.

We'll find out next week whether the Storm invite was warranted. PGF isn't much fun for teams that aren't up to the competition and that applies to several teams every year. In fact, that could be said of the teams that dropped out of PGF for JO Cup.
