The committee shall have the power to suspend the host’s bidding privileges for up to two years after a hearing. Once bidding privileges have been suspended, a host must demonstrate to the committee or the ASA National Office that all necessary improvements or
corrections have been made. Suspended hosts have the right to appeal the decision of the committee to the ASA Executive Director.

Each delegation bidding for a National Championship Final shall be allowed three minutes to make presentations to the Council members. Delegations with multiple bids shall be allowed an additional one minute for each additional bid.<snip>

P. Awarded Two Years in Advance.
National Championship Final bids may be accepted and awarded two years in advance when satisfactory conditions are guaranteed. New facilities must be completed prior to bid being presented.

Everybody complains about the weather but nobody does anything about it. I just looked at some weather stats for the area and we are actually below normal rainfall for July. There just happened to be a slow moving / stalled front on/over Marietta & North Georgia this week. Timing is everything. Ya'll should have been here last week. Highs in the low 80's, lows in the low 60's, low humidity and only .06 in. of rain on one day. I think you should blame ASA for their timing. We had great weather last week.

I'm sure the weather was so freaking beautiful last week in Georgia....Guess what? Nationals weren't held last week so who gives a crap.....Timing my butt......Fact of the matter is......YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THAT KIND OF WEATHER HAPPEN IN SO CALL DURING THE MONTH OF JULY OR AUGUST......

If anything, just blame ASA for trying to locate Nationals to the highest bidder and please parts of the country that have 2 or 3 or 4 teams and Nationals instead of putting it in a place that is clearly the hot bed of travel softball in every age group just about every single year.......

It's a money issue, it always has been!! Now, 14's may be down to single elimination.....Yeah, timing....

T , nice explanation, to bad it doesn't hold water...Just like Hotwheels said , it's all about the $$$..
History or that Almanac prevails. Places that have a continued history of poor weather etc. So don't talk about last week , last year etc..and that you can't know what next year or 3 years might bring..
Total number of rain outs in Park City, Utah the last 3 years...0
Tracy California weather the month of July has been consistent the last 5 years...
Phoenix, yes it's hot, but I will take 105 with no humidity over 85 and 85 any day...
New Mexico , Idaho , Colorado..the list goes on...
I understand the process and to the other poster, no didn't pack my bags this year, but would I go to Nationals where ever it was and take my chances..? Sure, that's we all do, but still ASA should look at the facts and the history before just giving in to the highest bidder for everyone's sake...
