So in answer to the OP, it depends on how big is your fish tank.

There are two (or more?) fairly serious threads on this very topic, somewhere on The Bucket. Hopefully someone who knows where they are will post the links for you.

But be forewarned, within those threads there are additional links to places like NASA, etc. where they comprehend the nature of physics. And after much in investigation by some pretty intelligent folks, there is still no consensus. In other words:

Physics says it's impossible.
Those who have seen it say differently.

So it really comes down to if you believe the science, or not.

Okay, you caught me. The reason this was brought up was - at a state high school coaches meeting in January where a presenter (who was a NCAA Division 1 coach) asked the coaches how many had pitchers who had rise ball pitches that actually rose, and after all of them raised their hands, he told them they couldn't because it is scientifically/physically not possible.
So.... the dad of our Fastpitch Barbie pitcher is adamant that HIS daughter's rise ball actually does rise. I do remember the post last year about this but couldn't find it.

I'll remember next time not to post such a question on a Friday afternoon!!!

If you start talking the laws of physics state a rise ball cannot rise, I am going to have to go home and drop the poor cat on her back again, because the law of physics says if you drop an upside down cat she must land on her back. My dump cat must of flunked physics because she keeps landing on her feet.
