New to "fastpitch" - need bat advise

Zeno is the choice bat on DDs TB team. They make a weird sound when the hitter squares up on it, but the ball really jumps off those bats. Unfortunately, DD doesn't like the way they sound and refuses to use one.

All bats eventually lose their pop.

Based on ABI testing, composite bats improve to something close to the limit and then either fail or the performance dwindles. The heyday of self-improving composite bats is over.

Alloy bats do not improve with use. They are at their peak out of the wrapper and have a longer life at their performance limit. Not all Anderson Bats are end loaded.

If your daughter has solid mechanics, including good hip involvement, the adjustment to a RockeTech is not difficult. However, if she arm swings or slaps the ball she probably should stay on the light side. In that case, the NanoTek is worth taking a look.

My recommendation is that you save your money and buy a used composite bat. An older model, if possible, (imo) is your best bet. As mentioned before, the older composites get better with more use. You can find some pretty good deals with minimal effort.

My DD has the Zeno TPS 33/23, She tried the Rocketech and didn't like the handle, she preferred the Mikens but her coach finally talked her into this one and she loves it.

Xeno, which if you understand their design mechanics, ought to have the largest sweet spot. It sounds weird though, like something is breaking inside when it connects with the ball.

or used Demarini CF3 or CF4 from someone you know who has moved up in size, or from ebay.

Don't buy a new Demarini or Easton, since you're paying a premium for a bat that isn't even broken in yet. Avoid the pastel Eastons from 2-3 years ago.

Speaking of which, my DDs 2007 grey/blue Easton Synergy SCN1B 31" is still sitting in the garage after two years of her having moved up. Check the ebay prices and I'll ship you hers for a decent price. She currently swings a 2008 34" Phenix, which I can also recommend but they tend to go for over $350...
