So who deleted the thread?

What's on your mind?

by D-up » Mon Jul 28, 2008 4:49 pm

Hey All, I definitely did not remove the thread. Its deletion was pointed out to me last Friday and I thought it might pop up again. My assumption at this point is that the Softball Soldiers complained and Hey Bucket took it off. They certainly didn't confer with me first. Is this normal? Have threads been dumped before with no warning?

Hey, the principles of the site all are at Nationals. Maybe they didnt want to sit here and police some of the things that were going on. It also wouldnt surprise me if these guys were getting genuine threats in some form. Lets face it, it is pretty easy to know who they are after only 7 months of existance and I wouldnt put it past some of the thugs associated to that organization.. Its a bummer.

And that grandma is a HEYBUCKET MONSTER GRANDPARENT.
The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure.
These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.

NU confirmed to me that Heybucket deleted the thread. They were catching too much flak over it...people mentioning lawsuits and whatnot. Can't blame them I guess. Who needs that kind of hassle?

I do dislike the precedent the move sets though. (Although I think there have been a few similar deletions in the past). It concedes that a blustering, threatening few will be allowed to delineate the boundaries of conversation for everyone else...which on a public forum simply cannot be tolerated (IMO).

It's all kind of reminiscent of how the SS did things back in the Hitler era.
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

(...said without a hint of irony.)

Why don't you move on--or, better yet, elsewhere--and let the grown-ups worry about what they will or will not discuss? Your "speak-no-evil" shtick is getting old.

Oh, and constant agreement with Ted doesn't exactly enhance your "board cred" here. Just in case you were wondering.
