I believe it is a different Firecrackers team as well.

It's the same one.

What difference does it make? It looks to me like only about 11-13 went through the qualification process and the rest are entered because they were deemed "worthy" and received an invitation. My guess is that many on the original list begged as well!

I think the Houston Power team has one team at gold and premier, and another only at premier. The Texas Impact added a gold team to their organization this year. One is going to premier, and one is at gold. Both teams are good, but I was told that the better team is going to premier. I am not sure how true that is, it seems that they have flip flopped kids alot this season.

Birmingham Vipers beat TNF today. Nice win. Knew that team was good when we faced them in Boulder.
GCH only wins 1-0 in game 1 and 3-2 in game 2. Maybe they are saving it up like last years run through the losers bracket. They better start scoring a few more runs or they might have to repeat last years run.

16 teams left in winners bracket. Only 2 west coast teams. Firecrackers with a 3-2 ITB win over GA. Impact and a nice 5-4 win over the Atlanta Vipers today. CA Breeze rolling through also.
19 teams in losers bracket from the west, 12 lost their first game and 7 more their second game. Tough road ahead. Better have a deep pitching staff.

Getting interesting. Can Team North Florida make a run through the losers bracket? It's a long way but if anyone can, it might be them.

Team North Florida advances with a walk-off HR by Kasey Fagan against Tennessee Fury. Will face the So Cal Firecrackers tomorrow morning.

The West Coast representation has disappeared after todays games. Only Cal Breeze in the winners bracket and So Cal Firecrackers in the losers bracket. 9 teams finished 49th, 6 teams placed 33rd.

Winners Bracket games:
Gold Coast Hurricanes play Tennessee Explosion. Should be a good game. Explosion has Tennessee bound pitcher and sister of Ivy Renfroe, Ellen Renfroe throwing for them. She is very good. Hurricanes can go with Rogers (Florida), or Jury (Alabama).

Miami Stingrays keep scoring runs but will have to face North Carolina bound pitcher Lori Spingola and the East Cobb Bullets.

Upstart Cal Breeze against Team Florida. It could have been an all Florida matchup but Breeze beat the Vipers who beat TNF. Team Florida has not given up a run in elimination play.

In the fourth game, it is the battle of Texas as Houston Power and Impact Gold match up. Power has won three 1-run games in elimination. Living on the edge :)

The West Coast Representation?? A fair share of the very best teams in the Nation aren't even at this tournament whether it's West Coast or otherwise......GO PREMIER!

I agree with you. West Coast top teams and other top teams around the nation are not at ASA Gold. You can not call this tournament a JV tournament, but its close. You have MANY teams still in on day 4, that were home, unpacking this time last year. Premier did exactly what they intended to do, they have totally taken the national championship to cali.
