Gameface, Defender, or some other mask?

What's on your mind?

by jofus » Fri Jun 19, 2009 1:17 pm

Which seems to be the most comfortable? My DD has a gameface, but a dad on our team has aksed me which one would be better for him to get for his girls.

Any educated opinions?

TIA
Proud fastpitch, baseball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, etc. Dad :)

My daughter wears the defender.... it seems to have better a visual area. Once they get used to wearing it they hardly know its there. She tried on the Rip It mask in PS and really likes it. I am going to get her one after Nationals. I don't want to mess with anything before we go.
Too bad, so sad, bye bye

My daughter has tried the d-mask, the defender and the rip it. She like the rip it best

I like the Gameface. The Rip It, weighs 5 ounces more.

Another vote for the Rip-it. Definitely the best visibility.

my DD's team whole starting infield wears masks, and now the 1 pitcher is getting one. I think i finally talked my DD into getting 1 for when she pitches. I think the more girls see others wearing them the more open they are to getting one.

our girls have the gameface and defender ones, haven't seen the rip-it ones.

which one did the girl end up with?

I couldn't get my dd's to wear a gameface. They wear defenders now and generally like them better but when my older dd starts struggling to find the strike zone, the mask is the first thing to go (unfortunately, she starts pitching better afterwards).

My dd's won't wear it if they're not pitching but we've seen some teams where even the outfielders are wearing them.

I'm glad more parents are considering masks. I saw a pitcher take a line drive to the forehead and it laid her out flat, she wasn't wearing a mask. In later tournaments she was a little less confident on the mound. My DD likes her Gameface, she's been wearing it since 10u. Get the kids used to them early, make them wear it during practice too, it will help.

My DD wears a gameface she doesn't like the way it fits though.I heard worth puts out a mask that has a spit head strap that fits around the ponytail and is supposed to be very comfortable.
