The DD of one of my co-workers was critically injured in a horrific accident yesterday and is fighting for her life in the hospital. She is not a softball player but is an accomplished athlete in another sport. They took her to college for the first time a few weeks ago experiencing the same pride, joy, and nervousness that many of us have felt, and now, this....
Cherish your kids, and please pray for this child.

Thanks for all the support, thoughts, and prayers. It has been six days since her accident and she is still in ICU with an uncertain prognosis. Her parents are coping and hoping hour by hour.
Someone above asked about the accident - she was struck by a car while cycling. If I named the town and the road many here in Texas would know it. For the skilled cyclist it offers grueling climbs, sweeping downhill runs and incredible views from the hill tops. It also has traffic moving at highway speeds....
Her helmet did its job - it saved her life. What it could not do was protect the rest of her from a lot of trauma. Please keep her in your thoughts.
