Can a player who qualified for Western Nationals be released in order to play Nationals with another team from the same age group. Can she play for another age group and team? What is the proper procedure. Does the team need to release her? What if the manager does not release her, is she locked in? or can you go directly to ASA?

The way I was told by ASA age commisioner

"The only way a player can play for another team that is persuing any ASA advancment is if her current team is not continueing any ASA venue". There may be an exception but it sounds like a NO to me..

You are all correct. A player cannot go to another team if her current team is persuing championship play. That goes for all age groups as well. The player is locked to her original team she was rostered on at State. Even if a coach wanted to let her go, there is no release.

She can go on other then ASA. ie, AFA, TCS, etc
