Man brain-dead after being struck b softball

I thought I had played a rough game when I grew up playing ASA in shorts, with no sliders or helmets. But, nothing compares to these ladies that I have met in slowpitch.

I don't know what they do for day jobs - load hay, maybe - but they have cannons for arms. And these ladies are 55 through 69. The 70 and over group is just as tough and I am not kidding.

The women's game has been changed to allow you to run through each base and hit a scoring line near home (instead of sliding into the plate.) But, I am stymied as to how that keeps you from taking a thrown ball in the face.

Loaded bats - OMG. I had never seen one in use before.
