Doesnt mean squat without knowing the competition. I hear about kids hitting h/r s and people get all excited - I want to see who they were batting against. I know plenty of kids who cant get to first base on a decent travel team, and they hit home runs in high school against chef-boy-ar-dee pitchers. High School stats mean nothing - batting stats, pitching stats, base stealing stats, none of it.

Actually our high school coach doesnt believe in the running up the score nonsense. Against the non-competitive schools in our area, he gets the score up to the run rule number to end the game early, no one can steal, every one bunts, and just triy to end the game early. Stretch these games out and someone can get hurt. This season, we have had 6 district games, we lost one 1-0 and won the other 5 by run rule, and just at the run rule number. Both pitchers have had perfect games - but both have said the same thing - 'doesnt mean anything against weak teams'. Obviously different parts of the country feel differently.

I couldn't pretend to tell you what Candrea expects of recruits. I merely mentioned that she was going to UofA to let posters know that her HR record is by no means a fluke. You 'll have to ask Candrea what he looks for.
