what are the hottest bats for the 09 season

Anderson Bat Question ... what I'm reading on the Rocket Tech refers to it 'flexing' ... but I'm not seeing that description on Techzilla ... Does the Rocket Tech flex ? And does the Techzilla flex ? Are they 2 piece construction ? No one on our team uses either so I have limited expossure to the bats ... Mainly Easton Bats, but not sure about the Clarity and might need to jump ship ...

Both bats flex. The taper flex technology provides the optimal amount of flex in these bats and the shape of the taper manages the vibration, keeping the ball impact energy harnessed in the barrel where it is effective.

They are both multiwall bats with two piece construction. The RkT's design is such that the outer shell covers the power arches that are formed inside the barrel at the end of the whole assembly. The TkZ has a power arch "insert" if you will that is tightly fitted inside the barrel.

Yeah I believe so. The ASA stamp says '04 but so do all the other ASA stamps including other brands. Is that the last year ASA tested or what? Not sure what that means.

If memory serves me correctly, 2004 was when ASA changed the standards for bat performance requiring the 98 mph ball exit speed. Prior to that the stamp date was 2000.

In order for a manufacturer to have their bat ASA approved they have to submit every new model to ASA for testing and the bat must perform at that standard. When it is accepted, it receives the 2004 stamp since the standard has not been changed.

Okay Gamer ... In your opinion, how do they campare to each other performance wise ?

Frankly performance wise there is minimal difference. The whole thing is the weight distribution in the bats and the -9 vs -10 weight thing.

Keep in mind that Anderson defines their bat weight by 'swing weight'. Has to do with inertia and the like.

RKT's are -9 and more endloaded and a batter who is strong with good mechanics can do very well with it. The Tkz's are slightly more balanced with the weight distribution being more toward the handle of the bat.

Yesterday. I sold a TkZ to a dad. His daughter had been swinging a RkT but he was thinking he wanted her to generate more bat speed. I advised against it as I don't recommend a switch for a batter that does well with the RkT. Well guess who came back today to trade it out? His daughter probably took 30 hits with it and it was way too light and she had much less control.
