At DD's high school Friday was Senior Day, so after the game the parents & players got together to honor the one girl graduating - she is a NJ gal headed off to Pepperdine (no softball). I was siting with another dad & the older sister of a freshman player. Older sis had just graduated from a small DIII school across the river in eastern PA with a degree in Chemistry. She was more than good enough to warn an athletic scholarship, but selected the 4 year academic merit aid. In high school she played multiple sports. One summer the girl had an internship @ Juilliard. In college she chose to play soccer over softball because: Chem labs were held in the Spring much more than in Fall; soccer is a timed game- you know when the game begins and ends; you will always play a scheduled soccer game - there are no rain outs or snow outs. This young lady completed her degree on time in 4 years & is now interviewing for her 1 st job out of school.

What I think hurts anyone later in lif and all through life is taking the path of least resistence

'Common sense' trumps all your bullsh#t you're writing here about path of least resistence. 'Common sense' means accepting the fact that the game was fun but it's over, and it's time to build a new path...one that will pay the bills...
