I asked that question when I purchased the bat as the CF5 has numbers to help remind the hitter of rotating the bat. The rep spoke of the materials and said that it is not a problem because of the construction. I guess only time will tell. I would assume that the break in will be quicker, but the life of the bat is in question as is any bat.

G- what number are you up to?

The Axe bat is specifically designed to be hit repetitively on the one side. When laying out te carbon fiber layers they are laid up in a way to take advantage of this fact.

Well JR, as long as your axing ... I figure it's around 200 but have lost count ... More important is how many people have seen my rants when Mr Notso Freakiniceonthefone could have just sent me a bat that was the correct weight instead of sitting with his rotund bottom in a swivel chair with his fungused dirty toenails resting on his cluttered desk of Chick Fil A, GagDonalds & Gagway wrappers in his dirty wesson oil stained wife beater while the ceiling fan beat time ...

In building the Axe line we wanted a design which gives the Hitter benefits throughout the entire bat (Handle to Cap). To do this we started from the beginning by asking fundamental questions about bats. For example:

What benefit(s) does a round knob give a hitter?

By asking elemental questions we began designing the only bat in the entire World which has significant and unique technologies in the handle, taper, and barrel. From here, much like the golf industry today, we frequency tuned these technologies to work together throughout the swing for the ultimate benefit of the Hitter. Regarding one sided hitting; golf club designs have to account for massive impact speeds on the face of a Driver with the same materials (Composite and/or Alloy). Has anybody ever rotated a golf club face for more durability? Of course not.
