Surf City Summer Classic, which colleges will be attending?

What's on your mind?

Or maybe they know it will be tough to ask a coach to sit a senior, that maybe is slightly better, and showcase a younger kid when the game does actually matter.

Probably harder to sit an unsigned kid this time of the year. The unsigned parents seem to get especially cranked up around this time.

Now that the weekend is done, I can say I saw some interesting scenarios - with a four hour game break, there is a lot of time to kill.
- A parent (I assume) going off on a coach because DD was not playing. Coach was trying very politely to explain that they needed the win if they had any hope of being back next year. All this taking place with coaches standing there watching

- We played a team that typically handles our pitching well (they score a lot). However, due to colleges present, they were playing the unsigned kids. By the time they switched to their starters, we got lucky and managed to squeak out a rare win.

Was this at Surf City? You don't need wins to participate, it's a showcase. And this year even the elimination games were switched around due to weather, so how does that statement make sense?
Ladies, if a man tells you he will fix it, he will fix it. There is no reason to remind him about it every six months.

Trophy Hunter - there are some teams that do need to win in order to get invited back. I would imagine there is a waiting list at both of those events and if a team is on the fringe, I could see where a team could feel the pressure to win to be invited back.

Always figured Surf City was pretty good about getting everyone in, as long as you sign up and pay within a reasonable period. Why else would they ship teams out to Anaheim, Artesia and even Beaumont, if not to accommodate an overflow of teams?

If a team gets to play at the prime fields (i.e. HB), they have to be competitive in order to be back on them next time.
