Probably harder to sit an unsigned kid this time of the year. The unsigned parents seem to get especially cranked up around this time.
Now that the weekend is done, I can say I saw some interesting scenarios - with a four hour game break, there is a lot of time to kill.
- A parent (I assume) going off on a coach because DD was not playing. Coach was trying very politely to explain that they needed the win if they had any hope of being back next year. All this taking place with coaches standing there watching
- We played a team that typically handles our pitching well (
they score a lot). However, due to colleges present, they were playing the unsigned kids. By the time they switched to their starters, we got lucky and managed to squeak out a rare win.
