How to hit the outside corner - knee high pitch

What's on your mind?

I need help. In easy to understand terms, what is the best way to hit the above described pitch? Where do you stand in the batters box? Do you need a longer bat? Please list ideas in order of importance. Thank You

You want to drive it opposite field, or foul it off.

Hit it deep in the zone, as opposed to out in front of the plate.

You shouldn't have to move around in the box, as your swing should cover the outside corner anyway. And you shouldn't need a longer bat for the same reason.

The latter two are pretty much moot, as there isn't really time to move around in the box or grab another bat once you recognize where the pitch is going.

That's the basics. A hitting coach or any good TB coach can give you a more detailed answer.
Good luck.
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

Tee Work Tee Work Tee Work, I work my DD on the tee 2x a week, from high to low and inside and out just for the repetition. ;)

Tee work is very good for this pitch. I have also used soft toss. I toss from about 45 degrees from my DD's back foot. I toss to the outside corner and the only way for to hit it is to go opposite field.

As a tip for pitchers and catchers on this (hitting the corners), catch it out in front. Say on a righty, If you catch the ball back, near your hip, your glove hand has crossed over your body and back, we've lost it, and you make it look like a ball. Dont frame it, hold it steady and out front. Dont set up outside, which makes it look outside, or with with runners on, it makes it look like a pitch out. Work the top half of the knee, most are not giving low knee anymore.

If youre not getting the corners, watch your catcher. They are probably doing something costly to your pitcher.
