Underhanded or acceptable?

My DD was on a team for 2 years 10U-12U we decided in the fall to pick up with other teams. After a couple of tourneys with this one team she wanted to leave her old team for the pick up team which was a better team. I left it up to her to pick the team she wanted to be on so we left for the pick up team. The coach of her old team was very upset but said do what you think is best for us. He also had another team that was older and coached by other people he told the older team not to allow my DD to pick up with them because he didn't want to see her in their uniform. We did pick up with the older team and the problems started between the coaches well the older team broke up. Now her old coach wants her to pick up with them I guess he's not mad anymore but my DD wont forget what he tried to do to her. Question is who was wrong has anybody else been through something like this. We all live in the same town kids go to same school they play for the same school team.
