Shockcoach-your umpires won't call outside, I can't hardly find any that will call a waist high fastball down the middle of the plate a strike. Isn't the stikezone knees-armpits? All kinds of umps will call the really low fastball strike, but not the higher ones. Gets frustrating sometimes!
A local high school team had a big pitcher who could throw in the mid 60's, she could drive nails with her pitches. Her catcher was very good as well, and would move at the last second to the out side - one particular blue would give her a strike, sometimes two balls outside the line. They were damn near unbeatable when they had that blue. Once we separated the blue from that pitcher, it wasnt a problem beating her. The blue is a good one except for that pitcher and that pitch. (kind of like saying - he is really good except when he is bad).
