Looking for East Coast Fall tournaments - showcase

Savannah is about 2 hours and 45 minutes furthur South of Myrtle Beach.

Not sure what weekend that tournament is because I am not aware of it (and I am a college coach), but in the Southeast, most college coaches agenda look like this:

weekend of Oct. 15 - NFCA Showcase in Clearwater, FL
weekend of Oct. 22 - Rising Star in Davie, FL
weekend of Oct. 29 - Gold Diamond in Chattanooga, TN or Georgia High School finals
weekend of Nov. 5 - Disney Event in Kissimmee, FL
weekend of Nov 12 - Watkinsville, GA Tournament
weekend of Nov. 19 - Southern Star, Savannah, GA

NCAA recruiting dead period starts November 30 and runs through January 2.

The weekend of Nov. 12 there will be more teams (48), and at least as many college coaches at the Champions Fall Showcase in Marietta, GA as the Southern Force in Watkinsville. Last year, almost every coach I spoke with went to both over the same weekend.

Thanks TReck for this information it's great. We are from the Toronto area and probably would have to fly down to Myrtle Beach anyways. So I guess Georgia is no much farther. We are a team of all 97's and are looking for introduction to college showcases as the coaches are not permitted to talk to us at this time. That being said, it is always good to get on someones radar.

What school are you from? if you prefer not to post on the thread but are comfortable to PM me, that would be great.

The state of Georgia by total accident did something that really helps girls when it put slow pitch softball in the fall back in the 80's and then when it moved to fastpitch in the early 90's, kept it in the fall. College coaches have more time and actually can go out in the fall during the week. And remember "BEST OF ALL" days scouting high school games DO NOT count in their 50 observation days, so they can go to high school games as often as they like.

With the rise of the level of talent in GA in the past 5 years, the GHSA finals has grown into quite a gathering of college coaches. During the season they do not want to go to every game, but there are games that are actually competitive and enjoyable to watch.

So if you want to do your girls a favor, move the high school season to the fall. (ha)
