by REALLY » Mon Jan 12, 2009 10:07 am

I understand all of the focus on 12u (40 feet, 12" ball etc.....) Well actually I don't but I'm going to pretend I do. In the meantime what about the 10U's where do they play out? Who will be the Bandits of 2010

TPS 98 is one of the top in the area, they have very talented players but unsure about them as a team. Seems like one parent could get upset and that team could blow up at any time. Don't think they will do all that well in nationals.

Texas Sting is a good sound team, especially defensively. Pitching is okay but not great. And hitting is just okay too.

Peppers 98 are a good team. Has good pitching. Will be interesting to see what happens with them in the spring and who shows up there. On eteamz they are looking for players and coaches it looks like.

Lady Stros 98 has good hitters, pitching is bellow average.

I would watch out for Kaos 98, Bert always finds athletes for his teams.

AS far as 99 teams
The Sugarland Smash had a solid little team they are very small and fast. But rumor is they lost their #1 pitcher

Cobras need some pitching but could come around late in the summer

Woodlands Thunder 99 have placed in several tournaments in the fall according to their website. And probably have the best 99 pitcher around.

Should be interesting Spring/Summer. LOTs of teams though

While some more teams will make it beyond what you have listed, I believe you should see a consolidation of teams from the same park like Cy-fair and other places. Consolidation will tighten up the talent pool to point so the 99 teams you have listed will have to continue to develop at a faster rate than the rest of the heard so to speak. Dissolution/consolidation will free up some of the "franchise" type athletes in which everyone will be on the hunt for.

Further, several 99 teams have been in hibernation- picking and choosing tournaments where the there are only other 99 teams or they view the competition to be week and the quoting a some what better win/loss record than they truely earned beacuse of the weaker competition.

Since we have passed January 1st, the truely equalizing factor with all teams will be the loss of the players who played down in the fall trying to avoid the inevitable challenge of moving up. Several teams did this and are now paying the consequences as they are advertise for "bracket pitchers", "catchers" and what everybody wants---"big" bats....

Like the 12U pool, 10's will tighten up over the next 6 to 9 months....
