We always focus on HB with the recruiting process and play in college(all of which is great) but perhaps we might want to focus on what some Softball players have done with the educational oppurtunities that softball allowed them.
As I have mentioned before, my DD and her fellow seniors all had jobs locked up by Christmas break- two at financial firms and another with a large accounting firm. All five from the previous year landed jobs in accountng and marketing.
Some of the other graduating seniors tha i know of:
chemical engineering
graduate studies for physical therapy
financial analyst for large bank
teacher
I am still trying to find out on some others
What really struck me was that of the 20 or so girls my DD played with or against in HS/TB more than half did not play the whole four years.
I am curious what other people are seeing? Particularly interested in students who majored in Nursing or the Hard Sciences(two subjects discussed a lot. I think it is important that students(and parents) understand that Softball can be a great stepping stone and we should celebrate the suucesses off the field too.
