What makes this disease so deadly and viralant in western africa is the very poor sanitary conditions, the almost non existent medical infra-structure, cultural fears about modern medicine and a mistrust of anything "western" In a modern western country a disease like Ebola has little chance of being a major epedemic(unlike other airborne diseases)
So how did the western, well-nourished, healthy doctors catch it? They were wearing protective gear and taking all the precautions.
Because they were operatining in inadequate and overwelmed facilities and obviously did not take all the precautions. These facilities and health care providers over there are inundated.
But I guess you would rather start a chicken-little panic here
