This is a 12u thread. While I think it is admirable of them to do well it does need to be posted on a 14u thread if they want props. Lots of 12u teams are playing 14u & doing well but you dont read about it on this thread.

Does anyone know how So Cal Athletics & OC Batbusters-Moore did in Colorado???

WildMom you are so bi polar. One minute this is a 12u thread only. Next minute you are asking how these teams did in 14's. Can someone get Mom her pills? Congrats to all the So Cal teams kicking ass in Colorado.

[quote="softball wizard"]A's went 3-1 in pool play & lost 2 out of 3 in gold elimination play, Batbusters went 1-3 in pool play & won 3 & lost 2 in gold elimination play losing to FC-brashear who eventually won it all! Good showing for playing in 14's..

Nice "spin."
Results:
OCBB Moore -- T 5
SoCal Athletics T/O -- T 25 (last)

As my post was from Oct: (Below)
My new opinion going into PGF with a couple minor changes (PGF teams only)
1. So Cal Athletics 00 T/O (too much hitting, too much pitching, too much defense)
2. Corona Angels 00 Tyson (still have the #1 that will beat all teams in the list with a little offense behind her)
3. Batbusters 00 Moore (solid 9 with good pitching and hitting)
4. So Cal Breakers 00 Steel (good team with solid hitting and pitching)
5. FC Araujo (speed team, with good hitters in the middle of the line up)
6 - 10 - in no specific order - Artesia Punishers, Irvine Sting, and Cal Cruiser, Mizuno Briggs, Courage (All good teams with heart)

Someone will have to put down Suncats 00, played them in Best of West and they are very solid.

See you at PGF

Oct 2012
It is too early to rank 12U but there will be a upper tier of 7-10 teams and then the rest.

Corona Angels - Tyson is clearly the top dog - picking up girls from Briggs, and Watley and keeping talent from their Holt team. Will be solid in pitching, defense and offensively.

So Cal Athletics - will be solid from the merge with Gamers 99 girls and existing Athletics team. Will be solid pitching, defense, and offensively as well, and have experience.

Firecrackers - Araujo will be solid with some additions from FC LM. Speed and Pitching will be solid.

OC Batbusters - Seen them play and will be solid, they have pitching and some solid bats.

So Cal Breakers - Have most of their team back from last year with experience, played well in Premier. Lost their # 1 pitcher.

Firecrackers LM - had a young team last year with success, will have a solid team this year. They always have speed.

Power Surge Teal - have not seen them this year, but Scott will make a good run from the success of his 99 team last year. Heard they are pretty good hitting team.

Other teams that will be on the upper tier not in any order - SD Aztecs, Thunder, Mizuno, Irvine Sting, Artesia Punishers, and USA Athletics (Porter)

Sorry if I missed someone,

Should be a great 12U year.

I've enjoyed reading the posts on this and the original thread with the 12U rankings. For the most part, very informed and good-spirited posts. It's been a good season and best of luck to all 12U teams headed to PGF and ASA Nationals. The top So Cal teams are going to be hard to beat in Irvine, but the whole field looks tough.

Will we see Juan Doe make a return to host the 12U Rankings Poll in the fall?!?

Saw some great ball last week at TCS. Here is my take on what I personally got from the teams playing on Saturday.

So Cal Athletics- caught a few games and impressed, very impressed all around. Great pithching, solid defense, BIG bats! WOW!

Corona Angels- best pitcher in 12's, solid hitting but still no match for So Cal A's.

Firecrackers Araujo- great outfield, solid infield... good pitching but not overly impressive. Speed on the bases, you can do a lot with 18 girls on your roster. Great in the middle infield but definitely most impressed with the catches their outfield was making. Impressive.

Punishers - big bats! would've ended up beating Araujo if some risks weren't taken with their lead off (possibly the fastest in 12u, impressive), Blonde pitcher is legit (wicked movement), feisty and tough catcher (small but runs that team when on the field, impressive). Need to work on outfield being more aggressive.

Irvine Sting - got lucky with their bracket, not a bad team but I think they placed higher than they should have, can't beat a big name. PGF will eat them up (my opinion but best of luck). The luck of the draw was on their side.

I have updated the top 10 rankings for PGF.

I think any of the top 3 can win it all. The rest of the pack will be bracket dependent. Not sure how Breakers have done against So Cal A's but I know the last time they played Batbusters Moore was Championship Fresno which was a great game 1-0 win for Breakers in 7 innings.
The big match up will be OC Batbusters-Moore & So Cal A's. last time these 2 teams met it was nothing short of all the hype. I think the game ended in ITB with Batbusters on top. All 3 of these teams could be tied for # 1 but I based the ranking on body of work in the Div.
remember this is just my opinion.

Got it wrong again Wildcat. You have been all over the board all year starting with your wonderful #1 Cal Crusiers. Yes that was your #1 nobody else's.

We all know CA, So Cal A's and BB Moore will beat Breakers at PGF when playing their #1 line up. Only you would go that route. Not sure what teams you have been watching.

Good luck to all So Cal teams. Bring home the Title.

We all know? Did BB Moore not play their #1 line up in Fresno when they lost to the Breakers? Do the CA Angels only have one pitcher? The only one they didn't pitch against the Breakers that led to the 16-0 defeat? So you are disrespecting the BB Moore and CA coaching for these miscalculations? Or just saying they were holding back for the Big One?!

I would loved to have had my DD on any of these teams, and actually tried to get her on a couple, but . . . wasn't meant to be.

Still, Nationals happens for a reason. To decide? So maybe step back from the chest thumping until August 4th.
