The two best teams in the nation last year going head to head, This is awesome televised live on ESPN what a great game. ESPN hooking up with fastpitch is the best thing to happen to fastpitch in a long long time. GO SOCAL !!!!!

I was told that at least 7 or more starters from both championship teams are now in college, so this game will not be between those championship teams, it will be between those organizations that won last year unless those colleges are allowing those girls to return. (which we all know they are not).

But a travel ball game on TV will be good for softball and hopefully a lot of people will tune in and boost the ratings so that advertisers will see the marketability of girls softball on TV.

Well thanks TReck or Captain Obvious.
We already fiqured out that the same A's and East Cobb teams will not be playing in this weekends game that some of the girls have moved on to college. Would it be easier for you if they marketed the game as , Last years National champions minus the girls that have moved on to a different team for undisclosed reason or have left for college and are not allowed to come back and play travelball GAME.

Hopefully, for the sake of the sport, the teams that are playing the televised games, do so to WIN.

Nothing could be worse for this sport than to televise games that are being played Showcase style. I noticed that the blocks of time for the televised games have been set at two hours, so I think they will do that.

It would be impossible for a person that is unfamiliar with the sport to form a good opinion of softball if they are watching a showcase game with unlimited subs, courtesy runners galore, and the other nonsense that goes on during the showcases.

I don't have the popular view have about showcases being about getting seen etc...., college coaches that i have talked to during the recruiting process were not a fans of the setup and felt they made a mockery of the game, yet they still go in droves, to not miss out on recruiting opportunities. :o

Daughter's team is heading down Thursday morning to play in this. I'm trying to see if anybody is familiar with the complex--in looking at a site map on-line, it appears that they are using both softball and baseball diamonds in order to get all the games in. I guess it would be the same for both teams, but I can't say that they've ever played softball on a grass infield with a mound in the middle of the diamond before. If anybody has played there before--am I correct about the non-main softball complex fields? and if so, how did they work out for playing fastpitch softball?
