I've known of a few coaches who are that way.

I don't know what level of ball we are talking about here, but at any reasonably competative level, the umpire shouldn't be worried about "connecting" with the coach and players.

Sharps hypo...I see girls out of position in the infield all the time and could get somebody hurt. My kid would be the first one to run blindly into another player cause she's assuming that other players going to get out of the way.
When I play...if blues not looking we often step into the path of a base runner just enough to break his stride.
