So far, ASA has allowed 2 teams that did not classify (in either classifier) to be part of the 50 classified teams.

"So far, ASA has allowed 2 teams that did not classify (in either classifier) to be part of the 50 classified teams"

And there will be a few more teams added that did not classify as several Gold teams decide to pursue Premier Nationals only and relinquish their "Gold" classification.

This year the gold classification is such a futile effort. All the top teams will be at Premier, the smart teams will stay in CA and participate in 18A in Hemet and not bother with the gold thing, but also try to qualify for Premier. The dumb teams will try to qualify for ASA Gold Nationals and travel to Georgia, spend a ton of money and get rained out. ASA will be lucky if they have 50 teams for the Gold qualifier after the better teams bail out. It looks like teams are getting bumped into the Gold 50 even though they didn't earn it, i.e. teams with a 1-2 record qualify? Smells like TCS and USSSA. What a joke.

We have two national tournaments in our own back yard, why bother going to Georgia. The Gold competition is going to be so watered down, just sayin.

When you're competing and you see tears of joy or tears of sadness in the eyes of 16 or 17 year old girls at the end of these games, then writing how bad ASA or Gold or TCS or whatever or how great this or that is becomes one word to me: Irrelevant.

Congratulations to ALL the young ladies who worked hard on the fields this fall and winter.

They are the ones that should be commended regardless of whatever affiliation their coaches see fit to put them in.

If qualifying with a 1-2 record brings tears, well, who am I to judge  The Gold title this year is more for the coach's ego.

Irrelevant to some. Sure. Perhaps, justifiably so. Depends on the situation. Extremely relevant to others? Yup. Just as justifiably so.

How do you qualify for the Premier Tournament? How many teams will be invited for each Nationals and what age groups are they having?
