Estrogen has a way to change that too

She's 13 yrs old so yeah, definitely. I'd say far more about the father.

I ass-u-me that BB is springing for the scholarship, since typically D1 programs have 1 or 2 to spare. Not sure if everyone is aware or not, but the dirty little secret is that most top level D1 BB programs have males on scholarship as practice players.

Guessing she never touches a basketball at UW. Rumor has it that they have never even met the basketball coach.

Thank you Squirrel for sharing this. It looks like there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel and that change is on the way.

Here's a couple excerpts from the article I thought were worth sharing:

Some young students and parents enjoy the attention that early recruiting brings — and the opportunity to essentially lock up a college scholarship. But coaches worry that the students are making uninformed choices about college, and they say they have seen an uptick in disappointed early recruits’ transferring.

“This is incredibly important for the mental health of high school athletes as well as for our sport in general,” one current player said in the survey, which was shared with the N.C.A.A.

“Please, make the madness stop,” another player said.

For some reason Todd Marinovich keeps coming to mind.

My daughter's travel team has played against her team the Bandits many times and has a winning record against them. (Just had to throw that in there) Don't get me wrong she is a good player, but I know of 25-50 girls her age in Indiana alone as good and better. Let alone, all the other states. There has to be more to the scholarship than just her softball ability. Anyway, good for her.
