My 2016 daughter (catcher), just got her first offer from a D2 school in Georgia. (We live in Ga too)

What would you conisder a good offer, and a great offer?

Thanks

A lot of factors go into this answer!! 1. How important is it to stay close to home? (worth $) 2.. Is the school a good fit? (worth $) 3. Does she really like the coaches(worth $) How good are her her grades? ( academic money can be had here). It will not be a 100% offer because D2 and not a pitcher. Got to ask yourself - how much are the first 3 questions worth to your daughter?

Let's assume the school is a good fit, and grades are above 3.5 GPA (kind of gather that is the magic number with the offer gradually increasing the higher the GPA above this number). From some of you veterans, what would be a good offer? 50% total? 75% total?

Some D2 schools will cover 100%.

If your DD is a pitcher they really want they will cover 100% of Tuition and Room and Board.

If your DD is a position player they really want you may only get tuition covered.

Don't get hung up on percentages. The $ amount that's left for you to pay is more important than what they're offering. If it is a public school, a lower % can leave you with less to pay than a higher % at a private or out-of-state school.

Any offer that provides a better education than she'd get otherwise is a great offer.
