Dont know that statistically. I do know that the girls that grew up in my house and the girls that played on my teams and a lot of the girls they competed against , all the way through college , have had to prove themselves over and over through the years. That has to help them when they get out in the real world. One of mine is out of school and working , teaching school, and I know the school was looking for someone that had played sports. They needed coaches at several spots, volleyball - which she is coaching now, then track later, and then that silly game called softball, which she like a lot of yalls kids, has piddled with.

Some will need Grad School...dependent on the desired job requirements...
Donnies youngun will need more than her BS to go to the 'next level' if she so chooses.
My oldest wants to be an English Professor, so shes planning on a PHD school when she completes Grad School...

MY BIGGEST DESIRE for all our girls is A. Graduate from a course of study that has 3 special letters at the end of it...J O B.

While DD1 is about 6 weeks into her real life career, its great to hear her talk about and be excited about what she does. She was very fortunate to have had some very solid teachers and coaches when she was starting out, from music, the basics, and sports. Her first coach was a lady who was totally focused on fundamentals - the basics of why you do what you do - and to hear her say word for word those same things , switching volleyball for softball, as I hear her talk to her 7th grade B squad volleyball players, made me smile.

She had a sort of forced intern ship half way through college - she came home for a year in the middle of her college career - and substituted at the local middle school. She also taught softball in the evenings at a very good softball academy. I rememeber her telling me how much she enjoyed the teaching - and saying she was glad that she was able to know what she wanted to do.

I had the same opportunity, working parttime at an accounting firm while in college, gave me some real world experience of what was really important to focus on in school and why. My point is , some sort of intern ship seems to be so healthy.

Graduate programs get you 'qualified' for upper level jobs...Experience LANDS them...

Sorta like the computer geek, nerds when I did a semester at College taking course I needed for certifications...
I showed them IT jobs on USAJOBS.gov...

One had 40+ openings...starting at $50K with advancement to over a $150K...they all oooo'd and ahhhhh'd...
Then I showed them REQUIREMENTS to even put in for those jobs...
BS Degree with 5yrs experience for starting position...PHD with 10yrs for highest level...

sorta busted their bubbles...

Internships ar KEY

My Daughter had internships her sophomore and junior summers- also had fall internships at the same company Junior and Senior year. They give the student a chance to try-out the companies and positions the "dream" of to see if it is what they want. It also helps to build connections and an "in" at a company. My daughter wound up working at the compant she interned at.

Thats called 'experience' and a dash of networking...
Face it, in a lot of cases its not what you know, its who you know...
But in most cases, a person must be qualified, via a sometimes useless piece of paper, that cost $100K+/- to possess called a degree...to even apply...

BUT that doesn't mean just a piece of paper will get you a career...had a gal at a McDs Drive up window tell me she had a BS degree in humanities...but couldn't find a job in her 'career field' (I'll spare you my response...which I didnt tell her 'cause I didn't want the 'special' hamburger...)

Like I said, I don't care what degree they seek as long as it it ends in a 3 letter word...JOB
