Everything you want to know about the greatest game

by jonriv » Mon Feb 03, 2014 9:49 am

Everything close to the fields is booked- we rented a house right off route 27.

Babson has a 24 player roster this year. Have #1 pitcher back. Lost top hitter and miiddle infield to graduation. Looks like some decent hitters this year- will have to see what the infield looks like under fire. Looks like it will be between Babson and Springfield again in the NEWMAC

Frankly I dont see anyone beating Tufts in the NESCAC(sorry)

24 players with the #1 pitcher returning? That should help.

Coast Guard was beaten twice last year by MIT so a big threat by CG is unlikely.

Tufts...the girls really want to play them. It's a no pressure, large target... and they hit their pitcher the last time. When I talked with DD last about Tufts I believe she noted that the pitcher was fairly fast BUT...often throws pitches out of the strike zone that hitters bite on. Lay off those and she has to come in. Know the zone and what the blue will call.

Hopefully I can stop by and see the game (if we are there). I will have some sort of purple Amherst shirt on... (so you can flee if you see me coming....)

DD has Tufts as well, DH in Bahston after Florida. Still debating whether I am going to go up and watch. Kinda wanta see in person since so much has been written...
DD definitely has the date circled, wants her crack at "the pitcher"...

Anyone know if Tufts does webcasts?

hit4power you do not want to be at tufts for an early april game. its damn cold in mid may april is downright nasty.

we don't have Amherst on the schedule unless they added them in florida. the only games I know of in florida so far is the babson game and ranked north central

I can attest to Tufts in April- sitting on that hill overlooking the field gets colder as the sun starts to set and wind kicks in!!!! :D

A lot of teams are aiming at Tufts---they are certainly the team to beat this year
