When the defending state champion goes up against the pitcher of the year you would expect a pretty good game with the 1 woman wrecking crew of Jessica Reichner providing the difference. Zinc struck out 11 Chargers but lost on 1 mistake.

Cypress started hot scoring a run after only 2 batters. Reichner doubled to center and came home when Campbell singled off the pitcher's glove. Brown led off the Tiger 2nd with a single but nobody moved her up. Victa led off the Cypress 3rd with a grounder to Zinc who dropped it, picked it up and hit the 1st baseman in the center of the glove. She dropped it and somehow it was ruled a hit. It turned out to be a big play as Reichner followed with a HR to deep left. The next 7 Chargers went out in order, 5 on strikeouts. The Tigers cut into the lead in the 4th aided by the Cypress defense. Crowley singled to RF with 1 out and Vasquez did the same. The run scored when the right-fielder misplayed the ball. That was pretty much it. Victa singled in the 5th and Crowley singled in the 6th but neither team managed 2 baserunners in any inning.
