Surf City Delays

Questions and discussions involving PGF

by AlwaysImprove » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:44 pm

I think what you guys are missing is that it is the teams that have the recruited players, and top notch recruit-able players that have the power in the equation. Surf City or no. Surf City just recognizes those teams have the power.

Honestly, the old system, before Surf City was worse. Then it was who was nicer to ASA officials and umpires, which led to a lot of political samwich buying.

SoCal A's, BatBusters, Corona Angels, Firecrackers, Bandits, Sorcerer . They have the talent on their teams. The college coaches are going to show up to where ever they are playing. All the other teams are going to clamor to get 1 game against those teams.

MId to upper teams never seem to care where they play. Only who they play.

Amen. So, you are saying that newbie101's desire for a blind draw, where Tyson's Corona Angels draws the Sneaky Cleats, won't work?

Ahh, softball socialism. It does not matter what an established organization has earned over the years, they should be equally matched with first year rec/travelball teams in the name of fairness. Great way to destroy a showcase.

So crony capitalism is any better ;) No one is "earning" a place. They are getting one because of who they are and who they know

Oh, they have earned it, by their level of play, otherwise coaches would not be following them. Name one team that plays on the top fields that is not better than any sucky startup team?
I would not expect you to understand this, being that your only experience is northeast softball.

World I agree...

Side note the most talented group of DD's doesn't always win the game or tournament. The group playing as a team wins more often. So making reference to teams with not so good records or "playing up" are not deserving doesn't show understand either. Again, it's what college coaches want!

Earned it??? There is a play in qualification??? First come first serve??? Oh, it's who you know and reputation. That is not earning anything- that's cronyism.

the practice of favoring one's close friends, especially in political appointments.

It is always funny how people complain about favortism etc- except when it is in their favor. Again, no one is forcing these other teams to go, but let's not be deceived into thinking that this some form of meritocracy

It merits respect, but I am not sure the historical performance should guaranty anything. By your logic the World Series should be the Yankees and Cardinals every year?
