NO

Must local teams book hotels or pay the $1500?
No, but the local teams that decide to stay together during Nationals usually use the hotels

Will all teams have pool play games on Monday before opening ceremonies?
Teams will play one pool game on Monday and two pool games on Tuesday!!

This is on website, I was unclear if it meant ALL teams will have pool play games, I found nothing about Tuesday's schedule:

Monday Morning, July 30th, 2012
18HS,16U,14U - POOL PLAY GAMES begin at 8:00am (Last games scheduled will be 12:00pm, due to afternoon opening ceremonies)
***Gift Exchange-Both teams will exchange gifts after your first pool play game.***
