You have to be careful putting too much stock in one victory in a "local" event. By that logic, Boston University should have ended the season as the number 1 ranked team in the nation: they beat Fordham, Fordham beat Alabama, ero - Boston U is better than the number 1 team.
You will never really know until some of these teams begin to travel to the top showcase and tournaments and play a consistent level of top competition. You won't get that playing local events and PONY nationals in my opinion.

Agree with you there- has been some teams branching out- NSA, TCS, Colorado etc.... As with many organizations- the path of least resistance and what is "tried and true" are hard to break

ASA was really the fabric that held the "Nationals" concept together. Now that so many of the better CA teams are staying home to play PGF, "Nationals" is pretty much an alphabet soup of options, no one universally better than the other.
Ladies, if a man tells you he will fix it, he will fix it. There is no reason to remind him about it every six months.
