A bunch of teams looked strong this weekend. It should be a good season. I believe Grapettes are probably a top 10 team, but since they did not play I did not put them in that high. I based my 5-20 on how far they got and runs allowed in last game. It looks like the ASA Wilson Trophy challenge is the next time we can see a bunch of top teams at once.

1. Breeze 02
2. Norcal Firecrackers 02
3. Breeze 03
4. Salinas Storm Gonzales
5. Universal Fastpitch 02
6. West Sac Attack
7. Lady Magic
8. OBS Monarchs Calvo
9. Norcal Smackers
10. AASA Norwood
11. Salinas Wildcats
12. AASA Maglalang
13. Hype Fastpitch
14. CC Dirt Dogs
15. Norcal Bownet
16. Hollister Blackjacks
17. Grapettes Guevara
18. Lady Hustle Mattos
19. AASA Nguyen
20. Cal Nuggets

2 of the top 4 teams will be at the Spring Storm Showdown on April 19th. Along with 2 solid CC dirt dog teams ( westcott and Leon). It would be great to continue to have all the above teams in this post to play each other constantly to continue to strengthen Nor Cal fastpitch. Sound off if there's a friendly event happening. I know there has to be more than just what I see in the Nor Cal friendly section of this website.

Top 10 12u based on last weekend and knowledge of most teams:
1) Breeze 02-strong tourney with strong team.
2) Grapettes-good team that will surprise many this Summer.
3) Firecrackers 02-have the talent to be #1 if they can put it all together.
4) Breeze 03- talented young group who should NEVER be taken lightly. As their #1 pitcher goes, so goes the team.
5) Universal Fastpitch-good team but not as strong as in the fall. As their #1 pitcher goes, so goes the team.
6) Lady Magic- good hitting team who will beat some top 5 teams this summer.
7) Salinas Storm (Gonzalez)-good showing in opening tourney.
8) Hollister Blackjacks-barely missed beating some top teams in 1st tourney.
9) Hype Fastpitch-has some good hitting and will be in the hunt this summer.
10) AASA (Magalang)-almost beat Breeze 02 in tourney and has talent on team.

I have to agree. They may all be 11yo, but they're just as good as the area's top 02 teams. They had a late lead on Breeze 02 in a very dramatic semifinal on Sunday at Foskett, in a game that could've gone either way. They're a fun team to watch as they're so solid at every position.

I look forward to getting a chance to check out the Hollister Blackjacks, as they're a name I've seen attached to a few close games against big name teams going back to the fall.

Congrats to Breeze 02 for going out and winning 4 very tough games on Sunday to take the season's opening championship.

Twelve of the teams listed are traveling to Las Vegas to play in the St. Paddy's Day Blast next weekend. I've never been to this tournament, so I don't know how the pools are set up, but I hope that the NorCal teams will get a chance to play multiple games against teams from other regions.

I didn't know the Las Vegas tournament was getting so many Norcal teams. The Breeze tournament had some close scores. I added All-American Mizuno Morabito to the top 20 this week because they beat 3 top-10 teams this weekend, Breeze 02, Lady Magic, and Norcal Smackers.

1. Breeze 02
2. Norcal Firecrackers 02
3. Lady Magic
4. Breeze 03
5. Salinas Storm Gonzales
6. Universal Fastpitch 02
7. All-American Mizuno Morabito
8. West Sac Attack
9. OBS Monarchs Calvo
10. Norcal Smackers
11. AASA Norwood
12. Salinas Wildcats
13. AASA Maglalang
14. Hype Fastpitch
15. CC Dirt Dogs
16. Norcal Bownet
17. Hollister Blackjacks
18. Grapettes Guevara
19. Lady Hustle Mattos
20. AASA Nguyen
