Tournament Options?

by lv2earat8 » Mon Oct 04, 2010 2:50 pm

Is anyone else getting tired of paying these high tournament and gate fees to play on crappy fields and and have crappy umpires? Where do you have to go to get better fields.

Can all the coaches get together and agree to play somewhere like Rainbow Fields or Tracy?

Maybe if we go somewhere else and play more often they would fix the fields and monitor the umpires? UGH!!!!!!
God is great, beer is good, people are CRAZY!

I agree. You should have seen the fields and the umpiring the Grapettes had this weekend in Lodi for the 12U's. It was a joke! They only watered the fields once on each day. The field condition for the championship game on Sunday was horrible. They watered the field at noon that day and that field had three played on it before the championship. There were no lines and batters box chalked. It was powdered dust... and the Umps, well it looked like the farm school for umpires. Too many doogie howsers out there. One kid looked like he was 13....Yeah the Grapettes reps kept telling us it was the City of Lodi and they had their hands tied. But the fields themselves were suspect!!! Plus they charged $4.00 a person to get in!!! Terrible to say the least.....

Sure you can go to Rainbow and play NSA, Dale would love to take your $$...

As far as field conditions, Louis, Northgate, Lodi, Regional, Tracy ALL are GARBAGE. They All need new dirt BAD. They have been that way for YEARS, and with the things the way they are now, I dont see them changing anytime soon. Im glad our days of those armpits are OVER!

Arnaiz is only quality field, just bring a hard hat, oh and they are going to fix that as well, yea sure when my grand daughter plays and she isnt born yet....

Umpires, I wont even start...

my pet peeve is the damn 4 bucks. Atleast give the kids some water on the field and chalk, and I wont bi*ch about the 4 bucks. Guy above is right, arnaiz is only one worth a damn, and yes the net idea there has been going on for some time. I bet in ONE tourney they could pay for them damn nets. I was at the 18G tourney on sunday of last week and some woman was yammering on about putting nets up. I just told her I will believe it when I see it. Its only frustrating when you see the amount of money that flows in there and no improvements EVER. I could care less if they expand their snack bar.

Play up in Lincoln... most of the tournies at Foskett are no admission and while the fields aren't great, they're not bad and the parking is pretty decent too.

Unfortunately the quality teams and the quality fields are 75 miles apart :(

Manteca/Lathrop has agreat field that is kept maintained greatly. Too bad it's for 55 and older community. they are serious about not letting anybody use it also. No public fields in Manteca to even work out on, except that one. About once every week I take my DD there for some fresh grounders. We only get about 20 to 30 min before some A--hole complains that it's a private park and they paid for it and I have to leave now. I don't know why when nobody uses it. Morezone park also is in Manteca but is taken up by Hardballers and others. At Del-Web (55 and older) it's really nice until they complain that my 10u DD is tearin up their field. 3 times now they kicked us off. My DD and I are now starting to have fun getting this 1 guy about mid 50's all riled up while he try's to kick us off. I suggest we all go and drive them freakin nuts over there, if you don't mind that guy soo mean with his killer chihuahua. Maybe next time I'll bring my friendly pit-bulls.

100% agree!! I've been saying for years that Arnaiz is a morter zone!! Great fields but a very dangerous place. Instead of pushing those $7.00 tri tip sandwiches and $3.00 world famous Arnaiz root beer floats..I think he can put netting anytime he wants (agree ONE tournament could pay for that)!! He is such a schiester that he will not put up netting but will check bags and purses to make sure no one brings anything in. Remember..safety first!!

I do very much agree about Arnaiz. Not much space to warm up your team either. That place rakes in the $$$ on everything and can't provide nets for the flyballs. Not to mention my car was stolen from right out the front gate there last fall. :x

As parents, we are out for the best interests for our girls. The problem is that these people running the fields are out for a profit and that seems to be all they care about.
Very true about the Arnaiz world famous rootbeer floats and tri tip sandwiches. ha ha ha
