Three houses, have three different flags, each one is owned by the home owner.
An American flag, Confederate flag, and a rainbow flag.
Three strangers (one for each house) walk up remove the flag from the property and burn it in the street.
Only one will be pursued, arrested and prosecuted.
Which one and why?

Hare in my town all three would be pursued and prosecuted. All with a great deal of zeal since my town has a very low crime rate and a well paid police force. Before hurricane or Fontana get their panties in a wad- it is also the most republican towns in either Connecticut or the U.S. For that matter

JR - Whom would the Feds come in to prosecute?

That was not the question

No sh!t Sherlock - how about an answer...

Thank God that Uno said it was okay for us to be mean to each other...this is good stuff!

Goes and grabs his popcorn...

This is not mean.
While you are in the kitchen cooking us some popcorn, can you be a darling and bring me a beer?

I told you not to post again until you finished pulling the weeds in my back yard. Now get back to work and I'll think about offering you a Bud Lite (in a can of course) when you are finished, but not a second sooner. ;)

I had no idea this critical thinking question would be so difficult.
Perhaps an easier one first, then answer the other.
If you have only one match and you walked into a room where there was an oil burner, a kerosene lamp, and a wood burning stove, what would you light first?
(a)..the kerosene lamp because it is easier
(b)..the oil burner...
(c),,the wood burning stove...
(d),,the thing in my hand

D.The match.

Congratulations on step one.
However you still failed by not answering the original question I asked, that YOU volunteered to answer, by replying to with a spin that would make a politician blush. It is NOT taboo to answer, it is relevant in the topic of flags.
So let me start off by saying all things are equal, but some are more equal than others.
Stealing a $20 flag from a resident will not be pursued or be prosecuted.
Burning a flag just makes you (the stranger) an a$$hole and is the destruction of property. Nothing worth prosecuting over.
The rainbow flag is different than the other two, it represents a protected status or class.
(go figure)
It would be considered a HATE crime punishable by five years in jail, something a political prosecutor would go after.

The moral of this test is: if you can stomach it,,if a crime is committed against you, claim you are gay so they will at least attempt to get the SOB that burnt your American or Confederate flag.

As usual, I'm confused. When did I volunteer to answer your original question and how did I spin it? Before I answered your second question all recall saying was that I was happy Uno is letting us old-timers be mean to each other.

Excuse me, I gotta check and see what's taking ATWT so long to pull a few weeds...

The question in question was for Jonriv, NOT you fastpitchdad05, dang follow the thread.
However sense you spoke up and raised your hand.
Will the UNLV mascot of Running Rebels have to be replaced in the future,,?
because he wears the confederate uniform and is a rebel, similar to the rebel flag.
(both a symble of repression)
Perhaps this PC world we live in needs to replace this, there may be some students who find it offensive.

What is the history of the UNLV mascot- seems like a strange place for a Running Rebel?? Maybe they could change their name to the Dealers? :D

Runnin' Rebels is only for the basketball team. From UNLV site...

The nickname "Rebels" was given to UNLV athletic teams because the school, emerging from the shadow of the University of Nevada, Reno, in effect "rebelled" against its bigger and older brother to the north.

The name "Runnin' Rebels" (always spelled without a "g") was coined in 1974 by then-sports information director Dominic Clark but refers only to the UNLV men's basketball team.

Maybe it's a regional thing - Dixie State Univ is 128 miles away in St. George, Utah.

I am from South Carolina. No South Carolinians were offended by the flag PRIOR to the mamby pamby, pussified liberal millenials coming out from their collective closets to demand satisfactions. These same northern folk who were turning over school buses during desegregation and school busing.

I went to Robert E. Lee High School......I imagine that will be changed before supper.
