Ted Cruz announced his candidacy for US President at “Liberty” University last week amidst a crowd of Liberty “Students” who were not at liberty to miss the event. Liberty students who missed Ted Cruz were subject to a freedom fine of 10.00.

I actually think that Jesus would be banned from speaking at Liberty University for his radical message of peace and tolerance.

Never surprised by the pandering of Mr. Cruz he also announced to CBS TV audience his preference for country music came because of 9/11.

BW I'm not a Cruz supporter & I don't understand how someone so smart (Harvard cum laude) could constantly say things that are so dumb.

HOWEVER, students at Liberty know exactly what they are getting when they apply. This is the same religious freedom we are all afforded thanks to the Military that has fought & protected us for 200+ years. IMHO it's just like freedom of speech. Now Muslims clerics demand that their followers are in a Jihad, which means to go to heaven they must kill all non believers, whereas Jesus said to Love & tolerate all people to get to heaven. I'll take the later every day of the week & twice on Sunday

Sad video of that girl in the first post, clearly a young woman who stood up for what she believed. I do not think I would advocate my daughter trying to take on a bulldozer though. Tragic that this happened, but her death is as much the fault of youthful naivete as anything else.

It is equally sad to see a young Palestinian girl describe the horrible situation she lives in, a situation that is intimately related to the fact that the Palestinian powers refuse to recognize the right of Jewish people to have a homeland in the middle east.

So this fight will continue as it has since the dawn of civilization, with many tragic stories on both sides, but that does not absolve all those in positions of power from doing everything they can to find a solution. So talking to Iran and trying to find a path to eliminating their ability to acquire a nuclear weapon is a worthwhile pursuit, trying to negotiate a two state solution is also worthwhile.

Recognizing that most Muslims are peaceful and good people is also needed, but staying vigilant and also realizing that of all the world's religions, this one seems to be at the center of the most tragedy is also needed. Or put it this way....Buddhists, Christians, Jews and Muslims have been persecuted at various times for various reasons throughout history......but when a plane blows up the smart money is on the Muslims, and there is a very dark underbelly to the religion that has to be acknowledged.

Could you elaborate on this statement please. Israel is a colonial settler state. What rights do the Palestinians get while their land is being stolen?
Both sides are not equal. The Jews that invaded Palestine since the 1900's have no connection to the land. They were not born there, they never lived there, they are invaders from Europe. And after 1948 it was the European refugees from the Holocaust that created the disgrace of Israel, and illegally may I add because the US recognized it before it was approved by the UN. So they are invaders that have no connection to the middle east, they are not even semites. By contrast, the Palestinians have been living in the majority and without interruption on the Levant for more than 2 thousand years. You cannot call them equal because they are not. There is an invading party and an occupied party and why must the occupied party learn to live with the occupiers?? They don't.
