Just put a 22 lb bird in the oven, before I put it in the Reynold cooking bag, I covered it with Mrs Dash Table Blend and Mrs Dash Lemon Pepper, then after reading some of yalls idea, I took a lb of bacon strips and covered the turkey with the bacon. The recipe says to give it 3 and a half hours, so I will be pulling it out around 6 ish , went in around 235 (1435).

Take care everyone , have a safe weekend.

Covering the turkey with bacon was a waste. Instead of the turkey getting any flavoring from the bacon, the bacon absorbed some of the smell of the fat from the turkey. So , lesson learned. The turkey was excellent, i guess the skin of the turkey, kept the bacon flavoring from getting into the turkey meat.
